It's not too bad. It's not that great either. A good starter kit to those new to MG. I prefer the ver. 1.5 for easy builds and for making custom units, but this has its place.

The Core Fighter that makes up the chest cavity is detachable and the wings unfold. This is the coolest (and only) version of the RX-78-2 that I've ever built. I intend to build the Ver. Kas in chronological order. I would easily buy and build another.

A very dated kit, it shows its age with the build process and definitely not for beginners trying to find a good starter MG. However, it's a welcome challenge for anyone looking to test their might.

for a 2000's mg it is descent in terms of looks and that's the main reason I bought this mg it is mostly based on the mg gm c type made prior but is almost un noticeable thx to the nice re-sculpted parts that make this the rx-78-2 ver ka, it has nice panel lines but the dry transfers are really bad they go on rounded and 3d surfaces and do not stick on well, the articulation is bad in some areas but it is still not bad compared to some models like unicorn ver ka which has way worse articulation than this model has, if you plan on getting a rx-78-2 that looks good and has the "Katoki" look this model definitely has it but if you want a highly articulated model you would be better off getting the mg gundam 3.0 or gundam the origin mg, it is still a good model it holds its weapons even tho it has the old style hands but it even has hg or re/100 style fix posed fist and beam rifle holding hand which work perfectly everything is very solid and nothing comes off easly, the core fighter and core block are exactly the same as mg guncannon so it would be compatible with that model also the core fighter is surprisingly nice with actual landing gears and not just a clear piece that goes underneath the fighter like the 3.0, the core fighter holds in as well as the core block, a begininer could make this kit but if you want a good first ver ka for intermediate builders i would recommend a newer ver ka (anything made after nu gundam are good) my final thoughts on this kit is: good kit, bad main hands but good alternative ones, dated articulation and build, nice colors, bad dry transfers that make me wish they were stickers, and a good looking rx-78-2.
