Great guide for beginners to custom modeling

I'm quite new to fully-custom work and was looking to peek behind the curtain into how some builders go about making some of these stunning custom works. This book covers quite a lot of things that anybody can benefit from, be it custom panel lining, plaplate, and small modifications to parts to give the final product a more aggressive and striking look. Techniques are explained clearly with step-by-step pictures as well as the tools involved in the process. Some of the English translations aren't perfect, but it's easy enough to follow along. While the tutorials are strictly for the Full Saber Gundam, there are other examples of the author's work, such as Exia or the Zaku II, that show the kits after the custom work has been completed but prior to painting. Where this book is lacking is in some minor details on how to achieve some of the more critical details about the customization process. For example, as I've tried to apply some of these examples to the kit I'm currently working on, I've found a big problem with how to find the center of a part. There are many examples where the author adds details symmetrically on either side of a part, but never shows how to ensure the details are centered. The author appears to simply line things up using various widths of tape instead of measuring for a centerline. This works on the kit shown in the book, but can't necessarily be transferred to kits of varying sizes. Despite that, this is a great book to have for those who want to get into custom panel lining and other modifications. If you've ever thought custom work might be for you, pick this book up and I guarantee you'll be inspired!
