Bandai needs to milk more money. Expect the HWS parts set to be P-Bandai only and cost like $200.

Answer
This kit better fly for that price

When JPY retail is 60k + tax, $650 is about right for international markets.

Question
I know it'll be a fair bit bigger than the first PGU, but DAMN 2X THE PRICE?!
Answer
$1 is 145 yen at the current exchange rate. Not 1=100 like ZeonicTitan here claims. That means right now the actual exchange would be $414.25 So adding taxes the most reasonable end goal would be about $450, not $600. Something here is sus.

Pricing hasn't been finalized, from the looks of it. But this is generally around the same pricing structure as other kits ($1 = 100 yen). Edit: Bandai pricing is never at the exchange rate. They factor in logistics and other overhead when pricing for overseas markets.

It's almost like tariffs aren't in play. Blame the US administration for the Orange Tax.

For Japan, the price is much different, but that applies to every kit Bandai sells. The RX-78-2 Unleashed was 27,500 yen when it released which would have been around $195 for Japan, however, the US price was listed at $296. Just because the real current exchange is one way, doesn't mean the kits will be priced the same. ZeonicTitan is correct and here in the USA bandai does typically make a 1 USD to 100 YEN exchange. Bandai USA (I believe they have a specific name, but I don't remember) sets the prices for all kits sold in US and increase the prices to mitigate any fees they most likely encounter during import. Any deviation from their set price is at the retailer's discretion if they want to charge more or not. It would be safer to assume the price to be around $650.

Question
Is there a date the price they are charging will be announced
Answer
It'll most likely be established in the next few months once BNTCA gets more info to set MSRP.

Question
do we know for sure if this is the same as it's Metal Structure counterpart? Same gimmicks, same gimmicks i.e. opening hatchet with both the unit and the base??? I really hope it is as ever since I finished the Daban version of the structure?
Answer
No, it's not the same. The design is different, with different parts that open.

Question
So, little more than double the price. Yet, does not include led unit, metal parts, premium sticker/decal, and all plastic.... me thinks this is a huge step backwards fron pgu rx78. Do we know for 100% these descriptions are locked in?
Answer
Yes, Bandai has already finished releasing information on the kit. From the prototype photos, the kit is about double the bulk of the RX-78. See the presser page at https://en.gundam.info/content/pgu-rx93/ for comparisons and details.

Question
I just saw that the PGU Nu Gundam and LED set are available for preorder today 9/10/2025. Having been a customer for the last 2 years, I have always been satisfied with the products and service by Newtype. So my questions that followed are not criticism, but instead questions from a loyal customer seeking to understand a change in policy. Specifically, this offer is definitely a deviation from the site's previous "anti-preorder" policy, and I also noticed that such policy had been removed from the FAQ page. Thank you in advance!
1) What are the factors that led to this decision to offer preorder for the PGU Nu Gundam?
2) What actions have been implemented to address the typical drawbacks mentioned in the "anti-preorder" policy?
3) If I choose not to preorder and wait until the item is in stock in 2026, does that mean the first release batch will be unavailable for purchase?
Answer
We truly appreciate your business and feedback. You've correctly pointed out that offering preorders is a significant departure from our usual policy, and we've temporarily removed that policy from our website while we test this new approach.
Our decision to offer preorders for the PGU Nu Gundam was driven by two main factors. For recent major releases, Bandai has been able to fulfill all of our requested quantities. In the case of the PGU Nu, we have specific confirmation on the number of kits allocated to us, which gives us the confidence to secure a portion of that stock for preorders. Second, as the most expensive kit Bandai has ever produced, the PGU presents a unique financial challenge. By taking preorders, we gain a much better understanding of demand, allowing us to manage our cash flow and order the right number of units.
This will be the only preorder we have planned for the near future. We're carefully considering feedback like yours as we decide whether this is a practice we will continue moving forward.

Question
Is the $69 discount only for the preorder? And if so would future preorders also have a discount?
Answer
From the email newsletter it seems only the preorders would get the discount. Not sure if it will apply to any other future preorders though.
