MG Gundam Barbatos Lupus

Model Kit
$84
Out of stock

From the intense second season of Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans comes the fierce and primal Gundam Barbatos Lupus, now in stunning detail as a Master Grade 1/100 scale model kit. Piloted by Mikazuki Augus, this upgraded form of Barbatos is built for raw power and high-speed combat—and the MG version brings that energy to life with incredible accuracy and articulation.

Featuring a brand-new inner frame based on the mechanical structure seen in the anime, the Gundam Frame is more complete and dynamic than ever before. The sleek and beast-like proportions of Lupus are faithfully captured, from its elongated forearms and clawed hands to the aggressive silhouette of its armored shoulders and waist.

The kit includes its signature 110mm arm-mounted cannon, forearm rocket launchers, and the massive Sword Mace, designed for devastating close-range strikes. Color separation, mechanical detailing, and poseability are top-notch, making this kit a must-have for serious Gundam modelers.

Far and away my favorite kit of all time

I got this kit expecting a par-for-the-course MG. In the end, I got something it’s genuinely hard to find any issues with (Cartaaaaaa!!!). The plastic is buttery as can be, the panel lines are the immaculate stuff of fully scribed customs straight out of box, you get about everything you’d want, need, and more. I was contemplating buying a second one just to display the Lupus next to its inner frame in the same pose, which I might actually do now. No matter if you’re a beginner or a veteran, if you’re a child or a senior citizen, whoever you are, if you find this kit, buy it and build it and I promise you will never regret it. It’s great!

Bandai is finally back with the MG’s!

TL:DR Pros: -amazing detail -articulation is fantastic -good amount of accessories Cons: -runner jumping is tedious -side skirt attachment is SUPER frail I’ve put together a few MG’s and Ver Ka’s and this was one of my favorite kits to put together in a while! I’ve always loved the articulation gimmicks of the Iron Blooded kits, lots of exposed pistons is always a top tier aesthetic imo. This kit is no exception! It carries on the great legacy of the IBO MG line improving on things from even recent kits like the Vidar. The amount of out of the box panel lining and details is something I’m super impressed with and happy to see Bandai moving in the right direction as far as adding lots of beautiful detail to these MG kits. Putting it together was a bit tricky as they make you jump around runners quite a bit so this would be a great kit to learn nipping all your runners an going in blind cause your basically going to have to do that anyway! Only major flaw with this kit and is a pretty major sin imo is the side skirt veneer waist attachment is GARBAGE. The only reason this didn’t affect the score is because the rest of the kit is that good. Be insanely careful with these but honestly I would recommend fabricating a bigger attachment or super gluing it cause these snapped the second I moved them to pose them. I used extra parts (E8 I believe) and shaved down the peg side so that they would fit the hole and the circle part just so happens to click in to the side skirt and holds it really well and is able to hold articulations. Hopefully this helps with anyone who has already built this kit and warns people thinking of buying it. In any case this is a fantastic kit besides that one major flaw that can be circumvented but Bandai should have know this would happen but printed it anyway so hopefully they receive the fan feedback.
