Candy colors are particular totally transparent pigments that must be applied on a colored base, preferably of the metallic or pearl or metallic type to which they give color, depth and chromatic intensity without equal.

RECOMMENDED AIRBRUSH
All airbrushes are fine from the smallest 0.18 Custom Micron heads to Iwata HP-CS Eclipse. If used with 0.18 and 0.2 heads it is recommended to dilute with our Thinners
HOW IS IT DILUTED?
All candy is diluted with our Thinners. Standard in winter and Thinner Slow in summer or in any case when the temperature is very high. The dilution does not have a defined percentage, it only depends on what is needed for our work. Obviously, the more it is diluted, the more attention must be paid to pressure and color management to prevent this from creating defects.
USE PRESSURE
From a suggested minimum of 0.5 for super details to a recommended maximum of 2.5 BAR. Bear in mind that the porosity of the substrate, the type of primer influence the pressure and the hold of the color on the substrate. Only experience can teach you how to adjust this parameter.
HOW IT APPLIES
Acrylic candy colors should be applied with light initial steps. In this way we are sure to create a suitable layer for a correct grip on the support. The first coat is usually applied in a very sheer way, it is left to dry and then the actual application begins with slightly heavier hands. The covering phase is carried out by applying more loaded layers but without exceeding. The color of the candy depends on the number of coats or layers applied, the more layers we apply the more intense the color will be. But the intensity also corresponds to the fact that it gradually darkens, so be careful not to overdo it too much otherwise you risk that a candy can become very deep but very dark at the same time. To be sure that you like the final color, you must always do some preliminary tests, better if done by preparing three identical supports of metallic gray color on which we will perform three applications with a different number of coats. In the end we will have 3 different color tones from the brightest to the most intense, only in this way we will be able to choose the one that is right for us.
HOW CANDY WORKS AND ON WHICH COLORS THEY APPLY
For each candy there are universal color bases that guarantee an always valid and spectacular result. These are small medium or large grained metallic silver and white pearls with reflection. They are considered universal bases because they are neutral funds on which the candy shows the maximum of their intensity. If, on the other hand, we choose to apply the candy on Metallic or Pearly but colored bases then the candies will work for fusion of color and will give life to new colors just like in the common chromatic process. For example, if I apply a red pearl and over it we apply Cobalt Blue Candy we will get a pearly purple color, because the blue blends in transparency with the red and gives life to the purple. If, on the other hand, we apply the Cobalt Blue candy on a neutral pearl with a red reflection, the candy remains cobalt blue but against the light we will have a violet reflection. So always remember to do some tests to understand what final result you can get from using candy.
COLOR CHROME OR METALLICS
Candy is the ultimate in effect Colored chrome, simply by applying the candy on the chrome base. Colored metal by applying the candy on any of the metal bases such as Steel or Aluminum FX
HOW TO CLEAN THE AIRBRUSH
The water-based candies can be cleaned with the Water base Cleaner while the solvent-based ones are cleaned with the Solvent base cleaner.
FINAL NOTES
Candy can also help you increase the intensity of common colors. If you apply a red candy on a bright red color, it will become even more intense and luminous. If you have any doubts, write to our email info@kustomservice.com
