Fun all around with minor issues
Fun to build and occasionally pose there are some small issues though like legs can’t handle holding everything in certain poses because of the the construction that allows the legs to pivot back and forth the head piece can pop off at times if you’re not careful , the lights on the beam sword have a hard time staying on without a bit of work. The limbs also tend to come off the poly caps but taking in account the age of the kit it makes sense and these issues have easy fixes . This kit deserves an update but is still fun and inexpensive if you are new to the hobby and want to try customizing on a 1/100 scale model

Pointy Headed Goodness!
This thing is crazy posable even with the giant shield. One of my favorite episodes of the original series is The Duel in Texas. When I have it out I pose it in a fencing stance with a Gundam Ver. 1.5. Must get. I even got a second one.

The MG Gyan is an older kit, but in my opinion holds up pretty well still as a kit today. The proportions are basically a modernized design while still keeping the anime look which is awesome. It’s extremely generous on Bandai’s part to include an LED unit for the Beam Sword as well! The only issues with articulation is pretty much the hip joints which aren’t very stable so balancing may be a problem. The shield can also be a bit tricky to mount on the arm as well as position the arm with the shield mounted, but it is definitely possible to strike a good pose!
