The device separates pieces well and fits nice in hand. It’s a little pricey for a piece of metal with a plastic case but i prefer it to all plastic options.

Worth it
You don't realize how often you need to take two pieces apart until you've bought this, and use it. Works fantastic. Buy it.

Does the job well and has a solid build. The head is well formed for a lot but not all circumstances.
Would like a vinyl or resin head option to reduce damage. And smaller head shapes.

Lifesaver
This thing has saved me a couple times on builds already. Nice, flat edge so you're not putting too much pressure on a narrow part of the plastic.
Blade is a little sharp - you won't cut yourself unless you're really trying to.
Pops out with a very satisfying *snap* - I may get another one to use as a fidget tool...

Nifty little gadget
My usual way of separating parts is by prying the pieces apart with my dull hobby knife. Sometimes I risk damaging parts with the sharp edge of the knife and can be uncomfortable prying the pieces apart with a very thin blade. I've also had bandai's plastic separator but that thing dulled out and warped by the end of the kit I was working on. But with this neat little tool, it makes separating a breeze. The blade part is sharp, but is not sharp enough to cut you (unless used with excessive force; be careful) and is very sturdy. It feels comfortable in my hands and makes prying pieces apart very easy. My favorite feature is that it acts as a switch blade. With a press of the button, the blade pops out and will stay out. So no worries about pushing the blade back in when using it for what it's intended for. Pressing the button will release that lock allowing you to push it back in. However, I do question the quality of the switch blade feature. Even if it fails at some point, I'd buy another because this thing is so useful.
