Durable

The nippers I received had a bad final grind that wouldn't allow for a flush cut. Newtype was very responsive in correcting the issue. I have been using as a first cut sprue removal cutter and quite amazed how sharp they still are after more than 6 kits.

My first single blade

As far as I can tell, if you take your time and know the process of removing pieces from the runner, they work well. If you try to flush cut the piece from the gate/nib, it might cut into the piece a bit. Make sure to cut along the gate then cut more of the nib off and sand it down or you can then try to do a straight flush cut if you don't like sanding.

Just doesn't last

This was an excellent nipper for the first few kits fresh out of the box but has been nothing but trouble since then. The blade lost its alignment part of the way into its second kit and the sharpness is starting to go too. Every cut now just /feels/ terrifying, like it's going to break. Not recommended at all as a second cut nipper, and while it's adequate enough for a first cut, you could get comparable results with a cheaper nipper. Overall, just fills a niche that doesn't need to exist. Either save up for a more expensive nipper or go cheaper.
