Good kit, lots of potential

This was my first RE 100 kit, and I was surprised by how simple it was to assemble for its size. The good thing is it looks good already, but it has plenty of surface for customization. I have both versions, and both were fun to build. They may not have a lot of gimmicks or moving parts compared to the average MG kits, but that makes them a nice bridge between an HG and MG.

Great for display, but not much else

Think of this kit as basically a large, older HG. There is some very nice surface detail, good color separation in the thrusters and vents and it's size lends to a commanding shelf presence. The addition of clear pieces to mount the funnels in a deployed position is a nice touch. However, the bulky size does not lend itself to being poseable and the polycap joints don't hold up over time. The funnels can be fiddly to construct and don't hold as tight as I would like into the shoulder racks. Out of the box this kit is nothing special but it could be a great canvas for custom work.
