Created to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Zeta Gundam TV series and complete the Gundam Team trio of the Zeta Gundam and Gundam MK II, the Hyaku-Shiki re-appears in the MG line! Featuring a slimmer profile with stylish new proportion, it contains under-gated parts to reduce appearance of visible cut marks and a special finish over the plastic to replicate its fantastic gold appearance! The vestigial transformation in the legs and wings has been included to provide accuracy to its involvement in the abandoned transformable Delta Gundam project. Different sensor parts in the eyes are included to replicate neutral, activation, and scanning sensor appearance.

Questions

Question
I think I'll plan to buy this kit, I have black, grey, & brown gunpla markers but I don't think those are suited on gold, are there recommendations for panel lining the hyaku shiki?
Answer
iirc, the black gunpla marker messes up the finish, but I'm not entirely sure if the grey and brown will do the same. I wouldn't risk it, though

Question
How would you go about removing the gold coating?
Answer
Use regular household bleach. Fill a jar/bucket and dump your pieces in. Wait a day and the plating should be stripped. There may be some "residue" that needs further cleaning. I've stripped the plating off the Exia Ignition's GN Blades using this method. Note the base plastic will most likely be black.

AFAIK there doesn't seem to be a consensus besides some type of cleaning chemical, there are some videos on youtube from people who probably know more than I do about this.

Question
Is it okay to gloss top coat this kit or does it ruin the gold finish?
Answer
Question
What color of gundam marker would work the best for panel lining this kit
Answer
Question
Just wondering if the Tamiya black panel lining juice is good to use on the gold because I saw that the black Gundam marker is not recommended and I would still like to panel line this kit?

Good build and looks amazing, well worth the money

Got this on sale and I have been wanting it for a while, making this was pretty straight foward and the build for this is good. Love how it looks and think it looks perfect

Bandai made things right this time

This time Bandai is doing a golden MS right (finally!). It's an MG 2.0 kit with good enough engineering. It's chromed (not lame yellow plastic; I also think the kind of chrome used here looks better than that used in most other chromed kits). There's under-gating. And it's mass-retailed (instead of P-Bandai). The only thing I'd complain is the finger tips can pop off fairly easily. Caution is recommended.

100/100

This kit is really great. All of the gold parts are undergated which is a life saver. This also comes with dry transfer decals for the shoulders which is also amazing (no silly borders). The detail is outstanding with some really nice color separation for some of the mechanical parts.
