Older Kit but if you love GMs

its a little rough the tooling likely is bit worn as there is some fitting issues, but easy enough to sand to even everything out but if you a GM fan like me is a must have to complete the HG GM collection

Needs pizzazz

This kit was fast to build and easy to pose. This HG GM is a prime candidate for a make over so add details by scribing or painting it.

Great build, but limited by its age

As my first gunpla, this kit will always hold a special place in my heart. It's an excellent design from a visual perspective, and the build is fun and quite straightforward. However, there are places where it shows its age as a kit. * The articulation is quite limited compared to later HG GMs like the Ground Type, as well as newer kits in general. The legs don't roll out to 90 degrees on each side, so some human poses are impossible. There's no ab crunch, nor do the legs yaw together on the hip. The feet aren't segmented, and everything has somewhat limited articulation range compared to recent kits. * Its weapon loadout is very limited, consisting only of its beam gun and its beam saber, which itself is not a transparent effect part but a pure white hand molded directly with the saber. (That said, the saber handles that attach to its back-waist receptacle do accept standard beam effect parts, and fit decently into the trigger finger hand.) * The number of things that must be painted to reach parity with the original design is quite high. The grey vents(?) and yellow federation logo on the shield are both in white plastic, the beam gun is plain grey even though its magazine is supposed to be white and red (and also is not removable), vulcans and venti thrusters on the head and legs are white, the insides? of the thruster nozzles on the backpack, the aforementioned beam saber if you want it to look remotely decent, the grey neck bit, stuff on the bottom of the feet, etc. However, most of it looks great unpainted (besides the saber) if you're not detail obsessive. Also, one semi-related plus is that it doesn't have any horrible and janky color correction stickers, just nice shinies that fit right into their designated slots and look great if you align them correctly. That said, it's a fine deal for its price. Just consider that later HG GMs (and probably kits in general, I only have experience with the aforementioned Ground Type) do, in fact, increase in quality as well as price. If you're like me, you might actually enjoy the process of 1. having your mind blown with this as your first kit and being super impressed by the articulation and process and then 2. moving onto something like the Ground Type kit and being even more impressed by the progression of gunpla in quality over these years. If this is your first kit, I recommend not shying away from panel lining with Gundam Markers or your choice of tool. With the markers, wiping away mistakes with a q-tip is exceptionally easy on this plastic in particular and the process is forgiving. Adding it really makes everything *pop*, especially the head details. Overall, great kit, but can't rate it 5 stars because of several obvious flaws mostly correspondent with age. It still holds together well and looks great.
