Your Bag

So I started building Gunpla this year with MG Heavy arms, and it was one of my favorite builds. Ever since then, I never had a build which I either didn’t like or couldn’t complete. Until this model kit. I bought this pre-owned but never assembled, and at first I was having a good time with it, but then I realized that the build heavily relied on stickers. The stickers didn’t bug me out that much but it kinda reminded me of how some HGs (like Atlas Gundam) relies a lot on the stickers. I’d built the GN Core first then the chest/torso, so I put it in and I noticed the core came apart easily in the chest, that really bugged me out. The build then was going well until I got to the arms. The arms really annoyed me as the hands just suck. Putting the fingers in for me was annoying, then the pointer and thumb on both hands were really lose, which surprised me because my MG RX-78-04 somehow had sturdier hands, and I broke one of the hands by accident, but it was whatever. When I attached the arms to the torso, there was one piece which hid the inner frame, and that piece was loose, only held by the arm staying on the torso, which was rather lose for the first time putting on. The legs were probably the best time I had with this, and even then, they had problems. Where the ankles are, the pieces of the armor are way too lose and can come off easily if you tried to move the feet a bit too far for it, so I used some glue for that. The backpack was a fine build, but when I attempted to attach it to the torso, it wouldn’t stay on because of the same problem I had with the GN Core, the GN Core would fall apart in there. After witnessing this, I genuinely just gave up, and decided to sell it. The actual gundam doesn’t look bad, and it has potential. The box art was really nice, and the included stand is nice, but I personally don’t think the engineering for this kit is good. Be careful on this build if you ever get it.

This kit is a little older, so I has the old style MG hands, which aren't the best. The sword can't seem to tab into the arm in rifle mode, making it holding the weapon difficult, and you likely will need some type of stand. The sword bits, specifically A and B, don't stay on the shield securely, and may need some modification to get a more secure grip. The C sword bits stay on secure, however use c clips to attach, and break if used to much (for me it was about 5 times before they broke). So maybe remove some plastic in the c clip so that it won't be at risk of breaking. The rest of the build was fine, but one issue is that the backpack uses the LED back part to attach, and the connection of the LED back portion to the unit is not secure, so at least you may need to strengthen the connection, and if you don't plan to use any LED, then gluing it would be the most secure. Overall, an enjoyable and good looking build with some issues that may need to be addressed for a better model.

This is an older MG kit and it definitely shows its age. Lots and lots of ABS. Surprisingly light on the polycaps. There's some terrific laser-etched clear green parts. And if you can get your hands on an LED unit it'll look fantastic. You'll definitely need to put in a little extra work though... The ankles, specifically, are very weak.

Loved the packaging and how compact it was. The build itself is still really good but some parts were a bit difficult to assemble - overall, i love this kit!
