There is an airbrush for the .3 and .5 mm needles, which for me bega the question if different sized needles are still compatible

Yes, but the .2mm airbrush and they have .3 & .5mm kits that come with everything you need. It is handy to have multiple airbrushes on hand with different nozzles though.

This is a 0.2mm airbrush. The size of the airbrush determines the nozzle and needle sizes. Thus, each size is not compatible with each other.
