Could have used some more polycaps, honestly

You should probably paint/marker or have a file or something for this kit; there are a lot of light blue parts that will absolutely mark. There are some loose parts, even before the transformation gimmick is put into play. The biggest offender is the beam rifle; the kit cannot hold it in very well in either storage area (the back of the forearms or the base of the tail stabilizer). No dynamic poses with this equipped, unfortunately, unless you glue it in or something. A polycap in either of these areas would have helped a lot. As for the transformation gimmick itself, I found getting the wings into position a terrible nightmare the first time I tried it (it got better when I realized how it's supposed to move over the leg joint), and the shield a consistent pain to get hooked in at the last. There's no landing gear parts like the HGUC version, so you need the hangar display base if you want it in WR mode, despite having detachable sections for all three landing gear positions on the wings. Speaking of the hangar display, it's a chonker of a unit with a collapsible stand for WR or dynamic poses, a catapult launch pad (which surprisingly makes it a little easier to pose the Zeta!), a bit on the side that you can attach the base that came with the Mk. II Gundam 2.0 (and even a base adapter specifically for the Mk. II), and best of all, a little figure of someone using those direction lights you see on aircraft carriers. Decals are the ancient "ginormous rectangular stickers that have a good centimeter of empty space from the colored part of the sticker", a bunch of yellow color correcting stickers for the legs and beam rifle, and a few dry transfers. I'd recommend just using the dry transfers and color correctors. Get the Ver.Ka if you have a choice between these two, but this one comes with a stand/display and the Mega Particle Cannon.

Its great! Just don't touch it...

This was my second MG build. I don't recommend it at all for new hobbyists. Initially, building the Zeta Gundam was great. The build was fun and after I put it together it was great. My biggest mistake was trying to transform it. Trying to use it's main gimmick reveals a lot of the design flaws of the kit. Since it transforms, Zeta itself has a lot of thin, loose parts that need to twist and turn to complete the transformation. The legs and waist are the worst. The legs are connected at the hips. The hips split apart and the halves connect to very small pegs on the back skirt. It is not enough to hold the weight of the legs. It is a nightmare to transform it as depicted in the manual. If you have to transform it, and I would highly suggest against doing so, take the hands, waist/legs, torso, and wings apart, orient them accordingly, and put them back together. Trying to do it all connected will have you end up breaking parts, having pieces fly off, or the force of you trying to move one part will make the torso pop out from the waist. Also, the thumb and finger joints easily pop out. I tried moving the kit from my garage to my room after I was done building it and somewhere the thumb just fell out. It's gone now. Wait for the Ver. Ka I guess.

Far closer to what we deserve in a Zeta

The build at large was solid- only issues were the hip skirt mounts initially flopping about before the legs fully secured, and the bigger issue...the double-c point connectors that serve to connect the chest piece to the back, and swivel and swing ...the c clip on the outer /chest end cracked ...and so it no longer holds in place nor can it serve as the swivel.
