The Laurasia-class is a mobile suit-carrying frigate deployed by ZAFT in the 1st and 2nd bloody valentine war. Out of ZAFT's two main warship types, the Laurasia-class is the older of the two, developed before the mobile suit. However, it was designed with a large modular hanger bay that was upgraded to hold mobile suits. The module hanger bay can be used to deploy a Descent Capsule or be used as a reentry vehicle itself, albeit unpowered. in standard hanger configuration, the bay is capable of holding six mobile suits that are deployed via catapult at the front of the bay. There is no airlock door between the catapult and the hanger, meaning the whole section is exposed to a vacuum during flight operations. The armament of the Laurasia-class is vast with a pair of 937mm Dual High-Energy Cannon, a single 450mm Dual Railgun, a pair of short-barrelled duel 450mm Railguns, a pair of 125mm Cannon, six 58mm CIWS, and eight 450mm Multi-purpose Vertical Launch System. The Laurasia-class is so heavily armed that before the introduction of Alliance mobile suits, it was capable of taking on several Alliance warships at the same time; see the actions of the Gamow in the Le Creuset Team vs. the 8th fleet in low earth orbit. This heavy arsenal came at a cost to speed and maneuverability, meaning the fight could leave it out of position to support its mobile suits. While often paired with a Nazca for support, this would limit the Nazca's strategic and tactical mobility.
The 3D printed model comes in 24 parts, with an interchangeable hanger to have it either closed or open with full interior hanger details, pre-supported files, full instructions, and a cover art engineering drawing. The model is designed for being printed on a resin printer, with the stand being meant for an FDM printer due to size, the stand will need to be glued to the model to keep it from falling over. The catapult parts B7 and B8 are very fragile, and it is recommended to print more than one set.
