Good "old-school" kit, if youre looking for a great looking mobile suit. The metallic injection molded parts are easy to mess up when nipping out, so be careful. my biggest complaint, like most old school kits, is the lack of waist articulation, and the bell-bottom leg design. Just a pet-peeve of mine. With that said, its still a handsome gundam, ideal for any small collection

I built this with my 5 year old so this is sort of a second hand review but since I get involved in all of the complicated procedures I'm likely to have seen the problem areas. I want to say that this is a really solid kit for an hg. I've seen the rg on display and honestly, was not expecting the simple hg version to be this nice, but it is pretty substantial and has a lot of presence. As other reviewers have commented, the neck box has a little collar on it that tends to restrict the head movement left to right. It's not a huge issue but will limit posing. Some of the frame and the guns are printed in a metallic plastic which works well when it's peaking out as an interior frame piece that makes it to the surface but just as a minor detail, while I kind of feel like the guns being in the same plastic makes them look like they came out of a gumball machine or dollar store, but it's not a dealbreaker because a little bit of weathering wash covers over the "fakeness" of it. Tons of white plastic on this kit, so if you are not great with nub work this is a great place to learn as the stress marks are nearly impossible to see on white plastic ;D. And finally, the head comes together VERY SOLIDLY. I'm usually used to most gundam heads coming apart when necessary, but my son put on the chest armor way too early and I had to open it up and dear god that head was giving me anxiety because I had to use tools to pop it off to correct the mistakes. Anyways, this is a great kit and at this price point it's a good way to figure out if you want to invest the time and effort into the rg. Definitely recommend. Good kit to build, a little bit of a different engineering schema then most of the gundams I've built recently, but not in a bad way. Also the kit is a solid-boi. Stands really well and with the fin funnels winged out looks great.

One of my fav HG builds tbh. Tight fit, nice looking pieces, Solid process. My one issue was the neck joint because due to the shape of the head there's not much articulation there. If you missed out on the HG Nu Gundam I'd say you wouldn't go wrong with this ver.
