December 6, 2024It's kind of in a gray area like the Avalanche Exia, technically it's a P-Bandai limited model inside Japan but Bandai has been shipping them to international retailers just like other retail MGs; so unless something changes it should hopefully get a retail restock in the US at some point

July 4, 2024Question
Why isn’t the PDF of the manual available for this?
Answer
It's technically a P-Bandai kit that for some reason has been released as standard retail in the US, which unfortunately means its manual isn't available through Bandai's info repository that Newtype uses. The closest comparisons would probably be the Red Frame Kai or Blue Frame 2R if you don't mind looking at a close relative, since all of the Astray MGs use nearly identical bodies and this kit's swords are almost 100% identical to the aforementioned versions, so really the only things that you couldn't find elsewhere would be the crest and backpack/rack system

It's been awhile since I had this much fun building a kit. The mg Sazabi was great but this build and full armor unicorn take the cake so far this yr 2023

A great Variant for a Great Master Grade
The Astray Turn Red was incredibly fun to build. The addition of the water slide decals were a big selling point for me. They help add a lot of extra detail to the model. The red zig-zag decals on the Tactical Arm swords were the most difficult to apply. Thankfully, a little Mr. Mark Setter allowed the decal sit tightly on the part. For anyone wanting to build this kit, I would recommend taking your time and approaching it one section at a time. This is not a model that can be powered through. Just like the standard MG Astray, the articulation and details are wonderful. You can pull off pretty much any pose you want; however, there may be some weight issues with the Tactical arms held in-hand. You get bonus stand to help recreate poses of the Astray holding them. However, I prefer to just keep them stored on the back since it gives the model imposing silhouette and they can act as an extra set of "legs" to help the kit stands securely (my kit actually remained standing after an earthquake). If you're up to the challenge and are a fan of Gundam Astray kits, I highly recommend this model.
