This is a resin kit to replace existing parts on the MG Barbatos. You'll need the kit to be able to use this. Also, it's unpainted and in one color so it'll require painting.

Although Bandai can take their time between restocks and usually don't post a schedule ahead of time, especially with MGs, this particular kit is ridiculously popular (even the #1 bestseller on this site) and as such they make TONS of them, so it's bound to be back within a few months and in great numbers (while most other kits could take the better part of a year for less popular designs to multiple for very niche designs, but Bandai is still WAY faster than Kotobukiya or any of the other top manufacturers. Bandai also fully owns the Gundam franchise, so there's not a risk of legal complications or deal negotiations delaying reprints like basically every other brand has to deal with)

Full mechanics kits are basically scaled-up HG-level kits. However, this particular one is a lot closer to the RE/100 line, which consists of models that are too obscure or difficult to make an MG of. Both Full Mechanics and RE/100 kits generally lack an inner frame and cockpit, but the newer Full Mechanics kits (this one and the Seed trio) and most of the RE/100s also come with MG-style highly detailed parts so they look great alongside proper MGs (and even better than some of the oldest ones!) whereas the older Full Mechanics kits don't have anything nicer than a basic HG and some even have to use stickers for color correction. In other words, Full Mechanics used to suck for a while, but the new kits since 2020 and the most of the RE/100s are great. The downside of Aerial getting a Full mechanics kit is that it's likely going to be a while before an MG comes out, Barbatos got a FM in 2014 and an MG in 2019, so if the length of time is the same (if not longer since bandai barely does new MGs anyways) the earliest we MIGHT see an MG would be late 2027, but WFM is just so popular that they may go for it early anyways. Still, if you like Aerial, this kit and the MGSD are probably going to be the best things out there for a while.
