What type of top coat product should I buy to go with this product, and should I apply it before I use this panel-liner or afterwards?

A lacquer (and it must be lacquer/solvent-based), gloss topcoat before you begin panel lining will help with the capillary action and protect the plastic from cracking if you’ve already assembled the kit or just want to be extra cautious. Any sort of topcoat - water- or solvent-based; any finish - will work once it’s dried.

Would I be able to spray this over my gunpla (that have been painted with a paint-type gundam marker) to secure in the color without flaking or being really weak when I want to handle the gundam?
