So Ive just started obsessing I mean gaining interest in this GUNPLA/model kit thing and im confused by the scale sizing. Some brands 1/100 is another’s 1/48 or 1/1000 or whatever. Is there a standard inch measurement I should see compared to the scale size? If the specs read 1/100 for example the figure should be @ least “xx” inches but (usually) no more than “xx” inches.?

The scale is always in accordance to how large the machine is. Find the machine's actual in-universe size and divide by the scale to get the height of the completed model. This is why scale kits vary in size. Smaller suits like the Victory is 15 meters in universe while large suits like the Nu is 23 meters. At 1/100 scale, the difference is about 2 inches. [Edit] The scale would be calculated as height divided by scale. So for a 15m suit, 1:100 scale would be 15cm tall (about 6 inches) while the 23m suit would be about 23cm tall (about 7 inches). The exact height will always depend on the actual size of the machine in question. This is the same reasoning behind why a 1:700 scale ship is about the same length as a 1:72 scale airplane.

a 1/100 scale model is 100 times smaller than the thing it is based on, same with all the others, so a big thing will be bigger than a smaller thing at the same scale

I think I get it now but just to be clear, given your example a smaller suit or machine @ 1/100 scale (100/15=6.667”) would be larger/taller/bigger than a larger unit even though it’s the same type (100/23=4.348”)?
