As mentioned in another review, I had the same issue with the head pieces needing to be cut down then glued. Also, yes, the manual issues seem to be fixed for the most part. I still love this kit, and it is really impressive. It feels like even though it’s imperfect, you can tell a lot of effort and love went into making it. SNAA has gotten much better with their newer kits, but this still holds up as solid for its price, and I recommend it if you like the design and have the shelf space. The leg and hip engineering are great too.

No articulation. Questionable fit for the large curved parts. Gaps all over the place, especially the head. It’s an upsized gk plastic version, so if you like how it looks and know what you’re getting into, it delivers with shelf presence just standing there. Don’t expect to do any posing at all though. All articulation built into the frame is immediately killed by the armor design.

Very fun. Between a HG and MG, and it’s priced like it, which is rare for Kotobukiya.

I got both sets, but if I had to choose one it'd be this one. They look great together, though. You can tell a lot of love, care, and attention to detail went into every part of this kit. It came together effortlessly but in such a satisfying and fun way. Fit is amazing. Tons of detail. Proportions are great. The stand options are great and actually look good in different combos. I couldn't be happier with these purchases. Highly recommended whether you're a Dragon Ball fan or not. Just really a lot of fun.

I got this even though I have the Bandai high grade in my backlog because this looks classier with better proportions according to the pictures. I was very eager to build this and bumped it up to the top of the queue as soon as it arrived, but I was sorely disappointed with the build from beginning to end. There’s not much to like about the way this kit comes together aside from the legs. Fit is really poor in the head, torso, and thighs. Sanding and glue help, but it's kind of ridiculous how much fit adjustment and seamline removal this kit needs. Articulation is terrible. The wings are too heavy. The joints are weak, especially the forearms. Glaring nubs and seamlines on the torso, shoulders, waist, biceps, etc. They undergated the nose of the backpack but almost nowhere else. It can’t hold any pose for long with the weak joints and terrible tiny polycaps, other than a simple standing pose. The sword is too heavy for the forearm connection, which is so weird to just make it a tiny friction fit peg connection because there is no arm-shooting gimmick or anything like that with this kit. This is up near the top of the list of most overpriced kits ever. Its nice proportions are worthless if I cant even pose it. This is going in a storage bin.

Rock solid. Looks amazing. Poses great. Amazing articulation. Can stand on its own even in dynamic poses holding giant weapons and an elaborate backpack. So much detail. Painted parts are great. Fit is great. Full inner frame. Iron Sickle was amazing and this is even better. Hands are better on this one too.

Improvement over Star Destroyer in pretty much every way. Lots of plastic for the price, and the build was repetitive but still fun somehow. Looks amazing

I would pass if you are a Voltron fan or not. As just a model, it's a frustrating mix of good and bad, and the bad outweighs the good for the price. As you move beyond black lion (head and torso), the kit feels more and more like the designers stopped caring, and it requires more and more color-correcting stickers. BUT the stickers are literally the worst I've ever encountered for anything, including toys and models. They're paper with very little glue/stickiness, and they don't even fit well. The parts that were done well were done very well, but that's not much of the kit. It's heavy for its size, so posing is a chore, even though the articulation is decent. The grey plastic is really underwhelming. I would only get this kit if you plan to paint it, and it is a must-have part of your Voltron/GoLion collection.

This is lacquer-based and not recommended over acrylic paints or water slide decals. Mr. Hobby Flat Premium Topcoat is their water-based clear matte finishing spray, and I like it a lot for painting over acrylics.
