Does this need to be thinned before using airbrush?

2 Answers:

This is pre-thinned for 0.3mm to 0.5mm airbrushes. Additional thinner may be needed depending on use situation and equipment.

Does this gunpla only come with fist hands? i like making gunpla dioramas, and posing with open hands looks better than only balled up fists.

This kit itself only includes closed fists, BUT they're the same mold as the generic frame included with most IBO Gundams and Bandai has recently reissued an older option parts set that includes open hand for the regular Vidar HG, theoretically those should be compatible with the backs of the hands included in this kit so if everything fits you should be good to go. If that doesn't work the ones in the parts set aren't actually colored blue (it's a sticker) and are molded in the same gray as the hands/frame so if you're OK with a slight difference in appearance that will 100% be compatible. The original name for the set was IBO MS Option Set #7, but it's been renamed to "Gunpla 12 - Large Railgun" (despite nothing actually changing, same parts/colors/stickers and a re-themed box with the same pictures) and is currently in stock here

I'm asking this on this kit because of how recent and popular it is, but how come many of the recent releases on newtype use only the teaser images and not the irl pics of the kit? This is more of a personal gripe, I just like to see what my kit's gonna look like when I get it (somewhat)

1 Answer:

Bandai shifted to using renders instead of prototype/painted kit photos as the official “selling point”. Even on the Bandai Hobby site, it’s 90% CG renders for upcoming kits. When that’s the only “official material” to be used, it’s going to be the same for all the retailers.

How did the stock go so fast? I've been waiting for this restock for at least a year and I blinked and missed it.

Looks like a ton of people were waiting for it… sold out really quick. Same with the Monster Hunter collab kits.

It should be able to, as Bandai has continued to use the same HG Striker system since Seed was first airing, meaning theoretically every Striker and Striker-compatible kit released (except the NG/MG/RG ones) are cross compatible.

Mentally ill children piloting giant magic lobotomized homunculi to prevent Armageddon by fighting eldritch horrors villain-of-the-week style instead of just all going to therapy (Seriously, everybody in it really needs to talk to a trusted adult, and that goes for the actual adults too). Oh, and a penguin.

In-universe it technically has VTOL capabilities due to the GERWALK mode, but in fighter mode it acts closer to a CTOL or STOL and usually stays in that configuration between flights using the landing gear for support like a conventional aircraft.

For some reason none of the AC6 kits have a scale attached to them regardless of manufacturer, probably because weirdly none of the mecha have an official height/dimensions like past games. Despite all of their previous Armored Core models being 1/72, they went out of their way to stress that this one is non-scale, probably because it's absolutely ENORMOUS, over double the height of the 30MM version and previous Koto ACs/Average MGs barely reach its waist height, with a head height that gets into PG territory so I can only imagine how huge the announced but as-of-yet unseen Koto Liger Tail will be (possibly in the same bracket as the Dendrobium or Neo Zeong). Assuming the in-game version is supposed to be around the same height as the previous AC standard, then this kit is possibly between 1/48 to even 1/35 scale as the Nachtreiher/Kasuar base is one of the smallest AC models in 6. If you're looking for something closer to being 1/100 you should check out the 30MM version which is a very well detailed kit for being not much taller than an average HG.
