will this require soldering?

No, it is plug-and-play (for the most part). the housing and other parts may need assembly but the lights are pre-wired with connectors to attach to the control unit.

Out of the bottle, no. You’ll want to add leveling thinner to slow down drying time so you can work longer with it on a brush and have it self-level as it dries to lessen the presence of brush strokes.

I'd recommend thinning it to a 1:1 ratio then adding more if needed
