This is a great value kit. The pros are that it: isn't very expensive, has great proportions and poseability, is a perfect recreation of that Yasuhiko face RX-78, has a beautiful shade of slightly tanned white for the main color (and tasteful hues on the other colors as well), has a slot for an LED unit, has plenty of option parts, and despite all that is fairly simple to build. The cons are that it: is an Origin RX-78 - which means it has that wonky knee joint, and it only has those fully poseable hands (which aren't... THAT bad, but still a bit annoying). I'd give it a 4.5 star if I could!

Well, nobody gets free shipping (import). In terms of company business purchases, they are "essentially" cheaper than when you try to buy overseas. Top it off for buying to support said company. I don't mind supporting Newtype, especially when Amazon isn't selling it and they have a bunch of third party resellers making it almost $71, Amazon is supporting them by shipping it for them. This is why you see Sold by "insert name of company"; Shipped by Amazon. It's not saying Sold and Shipped by Amazon.

With the rising cost to import gunpla and Japanese model kits, I think it's actually a relatively good price point. Newtype is definitely one of the best in terms of pricing, shipping, and inventory. Went down to a local Anime store in the mall and they had the God Gundam on the shelf going for $85.00. Plus Newtype's website and shopping experiences have been one of the best, and you get their free limited edition stickers!

I’m not kidding you when I say this, but there is a random seller on Depop (weird place to find Gunpla I know) who was selling the RG God Gundam for $85… New type has been my go to since I discovered them.

They do reprints of pretty much everything. There's still some folks out there that want the OG gunplas like these too, whether it be for a building/painting challenge, or just seeing what it was like back then. Better than letting history be forgotten like dust in the wind, I'd say.
