Questions

Question
does this model support LED like the other version? If so, what LEDs are needed?
Answer
Probably not? It doesn't advertise that clear parts are included for use with LED units. But it should hold them just the same. You'll need two of the single-LED unit in blue and one of the dual-LED unit in white.

It should be as it primarily uses parts from the 2202/5 version and can also be assembled as such, which itself is LED compatible. Assuming that's the case, the LEDs you'll need are one unit of the "Lighting Unit 2 (White)" (for the engines) and two copies of the "LED Unit (Blue)" (for the Wave Motion Gun and bridge), the latter of which is also in stock at newtype currently. The blues can also be swapped out or installed at a later point by popping off the deck as shown in the manual, while the white one is built into the engines and can't be removed or put in later without taking apart the aft section but can be serviced through a panel through the bottom of the hull to turn it on/off or if you need to change the batteries. You'll also want to pick up a plastic adhesive like Tamiya's Extra Thin Cement (my personal go-to but YMMV), as some of the really small details aren't snap-fit and need to be glued together.
