good value, with some flaws

Really good looking kit with lots of intricate details built up through small layered parts with prepainted gold and silver runners and clear parts complimenting the plain black and white parts of the design. I love the accessories too with the dumplings and gold lucky cat, as well as some really cool clear effect parts. Includes waterslide decals and 4 preprinted face plates with 2 blank plates. Most importantly, the "suit-type" and "armed-type" forms are completely separate kits with no shared parts between them, so you get two really good looking figures in one box! This fact alone bumps it up one star for me. Some cons: the painted parts are for the most part NOT undergated, so there are a lot of really nasty and extremely visible nub marks. The pegs on the painted pieces will also require some sanding, and in general a lot of the joints could do with sanding, especially the *awful* ankle joint connections that make posing the feet feel extremely uncomfortable (a problem compounded by the lack of any sort of action base compatibility). There are some nasty molding defects too especially around undergated nubs, so if you want to paint this kit up to look perfect it'll require not just stripping the paint but quite a bit of puttying and sanding to clean up the scuffs and chips in the plastic. Also the "tail" part is a serious pain to put together! Careful trimming the wire or you'll end up like me with one side too short to fit all the pieces.
